Kathryn "Kate" M. Swemba

Swemba, Kathryn “Kate” Margaret, 90, Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Cresson, went home to be with the Lord on May 8, 2020. Born April 1, 1930, daughter of the late Stephen and Margaret (Howe) Prebish. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter on May 3, 2013. She was the loving mother of her 3 children, Robert (Jaime) Swemba of Powhatan, VA; Linda Swemba (fiancé Robert) of Las Vegas, NV; Donald (Mary) Swemba of Fishersville, VA; four grandchildren, Chris, Aaron, Trinity and Angela Swemba; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Rose (Junior) Crusciel, Pittsburgh; and beloved niece, Deborah (Julian) Warthen of Albuquerque, NM. Kate and Walter previously resided at the corner of Powell Avenue and 5th Street for over 40 years until moving to Las Vegas to be closer to family. While living in Cresson, Kate was a regular Bingo player at the Cresson Fire Dept. She retired from Mount Aloysius College as a supervisor in housekeeping. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Due to the COVID-19 recommendations and restrictions, the family will have a private viewing and funeral Mass, Rev. Leo Arnone, celebrant. Interment St. Francis Xavier Church Cemetery, Cresson.
