Barbara Jane Getz

Getz, Barbara Jane, 89, Mount Union, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2023, at Embassy at Woodland Park, Orbisonia. Born June 20, 1934, Altoona, daughter of the late George and Ruth Bliss. Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Getz Sr. who passed away on January 28, 1993. Also preceded in death by 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Survived by children, Betty Dobson and husband Junior, Reedesville; Richard Hobble and wife Karen, Mount Union; Mary Rogers and husband Alvin, Allenport; and Robert Getz Jr; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and brother, Robert Bliss and wife Shirley, Mill Creek. Mrs. Getz worked at Robin Footwear in Mount Union. Mrs. Getz was a member of the Blue Juniata VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She loved doing plastic canvas crafts and won many first-place ribbons for her work. Family and friends will be received on Saturday December 16, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the funeral home, Joseph Barrett, officiant.
