Barbara C. Heit

Heit, Barbara C., 72, Cresson, passed away unexpectedly April 16, 2022 at UPMC Altoona. Born April 12, 1950, Altoona, daughter of the late William P. and Margaret I. (Ross) Harris. Preceded in death by her grandson, George Heit V. Survived by her loving husband, George Heit III; children, Jamie Heit; Alexis (David Ledwich) Heit; and George (Megan) Heit IV; grandchildren, Jordan Stiles, Kylie Donoughe, Gavin Heit, George Heit VI, Dandelion Heit, Sonny Heit and Ella Heit; and a great grandchild, Klaire Donoughe. Barb was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church. She worked as a certified occupational therapy assistant and then retired from SCI Houtzdale as a clerk. Barb owned horses and also enjoyed training them and discussing training options with her daughters. She was an avid lover of all animals, collecting many pets, including dogs and cats. Barb liked listening to the Beatles and discussing conspiracy theories with her son. Most importantly, she loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother and spending time with her best friend and husband, George. Friends and family will be received Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately following the viewing at 1 p.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Committal St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery.
