Hobbs, Barbara J. (Norris), 87, Mount Union, passed away Saturday March 9, 2024, at Embassy at Woodland Park, Orbisonia. Born August 2, 1936, Dixonville, daughter of the late William Sr. and Marguerite (Horn) Norris. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald J. Hobbs; daughter, Jana Fisher; son-in-law, Jess Rhone; brother, William Norris Jr. and sister, Wanda Beatty. Survived by son, Donald J. “Jim” Hobbs Jr. and wife Cindy, Kistler; son-in-law, Jon Fisher, Huntingdon; 7 grandchildren, Mark W. Hobbs and wife Melissa, Kistler; Joseph A. Rhone and wife Brooke, Three Springs; Renae D. Suchan and fiancé Jason, Kistler; Wesley J. Rhone, Mount Union; Elise C. Fisher and fiancé Dakota, Huntingdon; Jonna D. Fisher and fiancé Bryan, Kistler; and Ashlee D. Sunderland, McVeytown; 9 great grandchildren, Seth Nearhood, Wyatt Rhone, John Luke Suchan, Maddox Hobbs, Kinslee Swope, Liam Rhone, Demi Rhone, Charley Rhone, and Kohen Sunderland; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mrs. Hobbs worked at the Grief Sewing Factory for over 20 years. She was also the bookkeeper for her husband’s plumbing and heating business. Mrs. Hobbs babysat many children throughout the years. She was a former member of the Kistler Borough Council for several years. Mrs. Hobbs was an avid Mount Union youth sports fan and she and her husband sponsored many area youth teams. She was a long-time member of the New Life Fellowship Church of God then later the Pentecostal Freedom Church. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends. Family and friends will be received on Thursday March 14, 2024, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and again on Friday March 15, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, Pastor Bill Benson, officiant. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mount Union Youth Baseball Boosters, PO Box 265 Mount Union, PA 17066, or the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd, Huntingdon, PA 16652. Interment to follow at the Atkinson Mills Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
