Roher, Billy Lee, 82, Maddensville Pike, Orbisonia, went to his eternal rest on December 13, 2024. His health had been declining for more than a year. Born on July 11, 1942, Springfield Twp., he was the son of Melvin F. and Edwinna I. (Hoffman) Roher. On June 18th, 1966, he was united in marriage to Nina Jane (Shore) at the Walnut Grove Church of God. They were married 46 years until her passing on November 6, 2012. He was the last member of his immediate family, being preceded in death by his parents, wife, older brother, Tex Melvin Roher; and an older sister, Wanda Faye (Roher) Horton. Survived by a daughter, Angela Dawn; a son, Stan Melvin and wife, Julie; granddaughter, Heather Tice and husband, Alton; grandson, Caleb Roher and wife, Kassidy; and grandson, Benjamin Roher; great grandsons, Landon Ruggiero and Parker Roher; and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. As a child he attended Maddensville School and graduated from Saltillo High School, Class of 1960. After graduating he worked at Huston Ford in Mount Union for a year, then took a job with Allegheny Airlines in Newark, New Jersey. He was drafted in 1964 and spent two years in the United States Army serving in the medical corps in Korea and Thailand. After his honorable discharge he returned to his job, eventually transferring to Harrisburg International Airport, where he retired from U.S. Airways in 2006. Being born with a mechanical aptitude, he developed a passion for knowing how things worked. He carried his tools with him and will be fondly remembered by friends and family as a universal fix-it guy. He would gladly help anyone he could. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Old Methodist Cemetery, Maddensville. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley St., Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com.
