Charles "Jack" J. Shoop

Shoop, Charles “Jack” J., 72, Blairs Mills, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2021, at UPMC Harrisburg. Born October 31, 1948, Concord, Fannett Twp., Franklin Co., son of the late Jay Shoop and Pauline (Coons) George. Preceded in death by his stepfather, Ray George and brother, George Shoop. Survived by his loving wife, Bernadine L. (Glunt), whom he married on November 14, 1970, at the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene by Rev. Donald Keith. Also survived by his siblings, Linda Clark and husband Charles, Spring Run; Catherine Ford, Chambersburg; and Rebecca Green, Willow Hill; niece, Christina Grove, and husband Charles; and a nephew, Waylon Glunt, and wife Stephanie. Jack was a truck driver for Gateway Foods, Inc. in Huntingdon and retired in 1999 after several years of service. He loved hunting and riding his four-wheeler and side by side around his property. Jack also enjoyed going to tractor shows. After his retirement, he would meet his friends at the Milky Way Restaurant for breakfast every morning. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 3, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene, 594 Meadow St., Orbisonia, PA 17243, where Jack was a member, Rev. Richard Vandervort officiant. A private committal will take place at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene, 594 Meadow St., Orbisonia, PA 17243.
