Kester, Clair E., 75, Hill Valley, passed away Sunday September 22, 2024, surrounded by his family at Geisinger Lewistown. Born February 9, 1949, Shirley Township, son of the late Clair A. and Dorothy (Zeigler) Kester. Survived by his loving wife, Susette (Thomas) Kester; daughters, Traci Ann Whitsel; Laurie Sue Griffiths and husband, John; Susette Gail Bilger and husband, Norman; 6 grandchildren, Douglas Whitsel, Quintin Whitsel, Claire Yanez, Macy Bilger, Brady Bilger, and Dominic Griffiths; 4 great granddaughters; and a sister, Nancy Singer. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Shank. Clair attended Mount Union High School. He retired from US Sports after over 30 years of service. Clair also worked as a farmer and farm hand to many local farmers and was known for his reliability and strong work ethic. He liked hunting and fishing. Clair was a volunteer for the Mount Union Foodbank for many years. He was also the caretaker of the Germany Valley Cemetery for 15 years. Family and friends will be received on Saturday September 28, 2024, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon, at the funeral home, Pastor Duane E. Booher, officiant. Interment to follow at Germany Valley Cemetery, Shirleysburg. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
