James, Clarence A., 82, Cresson, died Dec. 29, 2015, at home. Born Feb. 20, 1933, in Custer, Michigan, son of the late Ray and Mary (Harvey) James. Preceded in death by son, Richard Samuel; son-in-law, Douglas Campbell; one great-grandson; six brothers and two sisters; father and mother-in-law, Ray and Dorothy Patterson; and brothers-in-law: Ray F. Jr., Richard and Rodger Patterson. Survived by wife of 62 years, Lillian (Patterson), whom he married Nov. 21, 1953; children: Dorothy Campbell; Clarence A. Jr.(Darlene); and Rodger(Lauri), all of Grand Rapids, Michigan; Ray(Lynn), Gallitzin; Sally Illig(James), Cresson; Joseph(Stephanie), Gallitzin; Michael(Rose), Heilwood; Regina Nihart(James), Ebensburg; Marcelle Benbrahim(Bassem), Northern Cambria; and Patrick(Annette), Phillipsburg; 43 grandchildren and 72 great-grandchildren; sisters: Minta James; and Shirley Bidwell(Lyle), all of Ludington, Michigan; and Nellie Todd, Wade, Colorado; brother-in-law, Joseph Patterson(Mary), Cresson; and sisters-in-law, Marcelle Miller, Altoona; Penny Seacrest, Altoona; and Frances Ferguson, Gallitzin. Army veteran of Korean War. Retired in 2011 from Standard Laboratories, Cresson as a prep technician. Liked to spend time with his children and grandchildren, and fishing and playing video games. Member of Carrolltown American Legion. No viewing or visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at The Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, Very Rev. Father John D. Byrnes, celebrant.
