Clinton Paul Huntsman Sr., 86, of 16237 Hill Valley Road, Mount Union, passed away Monday, Jan. 27, 2025, at his home, following some health issues.

Born Aug. 23, 1938, in Mill Creek, he was a son of the late Abram and Clara (Detwiler) Huntsman. He was united in marriage to Janice Fay McConaughey Aug. 26, 1967. The couple was married 58 years. Mrs. Huntsman survives at their home.

In addition to his wife, Clinton is survived by three children, Edward McConaughey Sr. and wife, Carlotte, Orbisonia, Jeanette (Huntsman) Thompson and husband, Glenn, Hesston, and Clinton Huntsman Jr., Mount Union; five grandchildren, Edward McConaughey Jr., Stephanie (Thompson) Harmer, Felecia McConaughey, Brooke Huntsman and Caylynn Huntsman; and five great-grandchildren, Jayce McConaughey, Richard "Joey" Harmer, Jonathan Harmer, Raymond Harmer and Kollyns Wilczynski.

He was the youngest of 14 siblings, all of whom preceded him in death.

Clinton attended Woodcock Valley Joint School and graduated from Huntingdon High School in 1956.

Following school, he honorably served his country in both the United States Air Force and the United States Army.

He worked at the Harbison-Walker Brickyard in Mount Union as a tow-motor operator. He was also a logger. He enjoyed being in the woods.

After finally retiring, he enjoyed his time watching NASCAR, WWE wrestling and any sport he would find on television. He was a loyal football fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions. He enjoyed his visits with family and especially loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private graveside services, with military honors presented by the William P. Spyker American Legion Post 520 of Alexandria and the Standing Stone VFW Post 1754 of Huntingdon honor guards, will be held Friday, Jan. 31, in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, with lay speaker Joe Barrett officiating. Interment will follow.
