Atherton, Constance T. (Ginithan), 86, McVeytown, passed away Wednesday November 1, 2023, at Geisinger Hospital, Lewistown. Born March 20, 1937, Cedar Crest, daughter of the late Harry and Opal (Snyder) Ginithan. Survived by her loving husband, Leslie M. Atherton, whom she married on June 5, 1955. Also surviving are her children, Tonja Charnesky; David Atherton and wife, Brenda; Debra Beck and companion, Troy; Michael Atherton; Lucinda Parsons and husband, Terry Lee; Linda Atherton; and Laurie Atherton; 22 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Patsy Hollibaugh. Preceded in death by son, Stephen Atherton; grandson, Jared Brown; grandmother, Florence Snyder and a brother, Robert Harry “June” Ginithan. Constance graduated from Captain Jack High School. She liked to do word search puzzles. She will be remembered for her baking skills and homemade bread and cinnamon buns. Constance also enjoyed crafts and taking joy rides with her husband. Most of all she loved raising and spending time with her family. Family and friend will be received on Wednesday November 8, 2023, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Thursday November 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 12982 Big Valley Pike, Mill Creek, PA 17060. A private burial will follow at Mount Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
