Emblem

Nadolsky, Donald “Don” James, 61, Cresson, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023, in Pittsburgh surrounded by his loving family. Born proudly on New Year’s Eve in 1961, Altoona, son of the late Francis S. and Mary Ruth (Byrnes) Nadolsky. Don was a devoted father to his son, Ross, of East Haven, Connecticut; and daughters, Kiana and Kiera of Cresson. He graduated from Penn Cambria High School and Thaddeus Stevens College with an associate degree in electrical. Don went on to be a Journeyman Electrician, living briefly in Ocean City, MD in his early years, learning how to party. Don retired on disability as an Electrician from The Farfield Company due to the debilitating disease, inclusion body myositis. He courageously fought that disease and lived a life well lived, by turning the old Corky’s Bar in Sankertown into his pad to hang out with his buddies, cranking the music, and being an A player navigating a pool table with his scooter, he traveled across the States with his dear friend Brian Campbell, they called it the “Live like you’re Dying Tour,” embarking on all sorts of landmarks most of us would never have the opportunity to see. He traveled the trails of Lilly and Cresson Mountain on his side-by-side, getting it stuck numerous of times. Don always had a smile on his face and was always very generous to help a family member or friend when tough times struck. He loved going to the beach and eating crabs with his kids. His family and friends have very fond memories of numerous events and parties with Donny, it’s hard not to smile or shed a tear when thinking of him. Don was the Captain of his Cresson League Pool team (Shovelhead 2) and a Son of the Cresson American Legion. He was an avid fan of the Steelers and Pirates. Don’s last coherent moment was at a Pirate’s game, with a few of his closest of friends, Phil, “Figsy” and “Houch” singing along during the 7th inning stretch “Take me out to the Ball Game”. The family has comfort knowing that he left them enjoying his last moments. Donny was the proud brother to his siblings, Beverly, Gary (Monica), Kathy (David) Perrin, Lisa (Ray) Degol, and Lynne (Bruce) Eberhart; brother-in-law, Bill Santell; and best of friends to Phil Davis and previous wife, Cathy (Barlick) Nadolsky. He cared deeply for his nieces and nephews: Corey Nadolsky, Scott and David Perrin, Kristy Shannon, Cara Cooper, Gary Nadolsky, Tracy Chappell, Kayla Santell, Vince, Dylan and Kelly DeGol, Lindsey Chura, Kadee Avramus and Nick Eberhart, Kaylee and Connor Mento, Tasja Kimball, and Desiree McCloskey. He too was close with his in-laws, Helen, John (Toni) and Steve Barlick, Cindy & Bryan Rabish, and Jackie & Bob Mento. Don will be able to rest easy now meeting again his parents, and especially his sister, Joyce Santell and sister-in-law, Mariann Nadolsky. Friends will be received Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson, where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at 11 a.m., Pastor Gary Shingler officiant.
