Eberhart, Donald F., 91, Cresson, died Feb. 26, 2015, at UPMC Altoona. Born July 10, 1923, in Cresson, son of the late Lewis C. and Caroline R. (Lilly) Eberhart. Preceded in death by wife, Shirley M. (Wise) on Jan. 15, 2005; brothers, Paul, William and infant Patrick; sister, Janet Mastalski; and grandson, Jeffrey Eberhart. Survived by sons: Darryl F., Cresson; and Duane W. (Beth Moore), Lilly; granddaughters: Jill Pate(Michael), Columbia, Md.; and Erin Eberhart, Cresson; 7 great-grandchildren; and siblings: Lewis "Mick" (Margaret McCarty); Rita Wilks; and Daniel(Florence Sloan), all of Cresson; and Gerald(Caroline Decker), Altoona. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a combat medic in Germany. Retired in 1985 from Altoona Center. Life member and past commander of Cresson American Legion, Post 238, where he was also a faithful member of the Honor Guard. Also life member of Sankertown V.F.W. Post 7377. Third degree member of K of C, Cresson. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where military service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday by Cresson American Legion, Sankertown V.F.W. and other local veteran organizations. Interment, Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cambria Alliance EMS of Cresson or Cresson Volunteer Fire Company.
