Posey, Douglas Mack, 65, formerly of Mount Union, passed away Tuesday November 22, 2021. Born February 2, 1956, son of the late McKinley Holmes and Ada Belle Posey. Preceded in death by his parents; sister, Jacqueline Boone-Posey; and 12 aunts and uncles, Joyce Phillips, Louise Posey, John Posey, Grover Posey, Cleo Wilkinson, Violet Norris, Charles Posey, Mildred Lee, Virginia Posey, Russell Posey, Frances Johnson, and Thomas Franklin. Survived by loving daughters, Shandell Marie Posey, State College; and Terri Swan-Long, Philadelphia; 3 grandchildren, Erika, Kazmuir, and Tristan; wife, Shirley Posey- Gallman; brothers, Dennis, Tyrone, Alonzo and Rane Posey; mother-in-law, Willette B. Gallman, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, colleagues, and friends. Mr. Posey was a 1974 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. He received his bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania in 1978 and his master’s degree in Counselor Education with an emphasis in Student Administration in Higher Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1980. Mr. Posey was devoted to his career and worked in higher education. He worked as the Assistant Director for the Office of Residence Life at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Posey then served as the Assistant Director of the Upward Bound Program and was a Program Counselor for the Comprehensive Studies Program at the Pennsylvania State University. He would go on to work as the director of the Act 101 and Educational Opportunity Program at Lock Haven University. Mr. Posey retired from Lock Haven University in 2021. He loved sports of all kinds and enjoyed attending sporting events with his family and friends. Mr. Posey had a soft spot for his late dog, Lucky. He was most happy when spending time with his family. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday December 1, 2021, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and again on Thursday December 2, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m., Pastor Rane Posey, officiant. Interment to follow at the Mount Union Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
