Kolar, E. James Jr., 74, Cresson, died May 10, 2017, at UPMC Altoona. Born April 26, 1943, in Colver, son of the late Edward James Sr. and Agnes C. (Mazor) Kolar. Survived by wife, Claudia A. (Schmitt), whom he married Oct. 3, 1970, in Hauppauge, Long Island, New York; children; Pamela B. Marshall (Brian), Connecticut; Jennifer K. Gaudette, Maryland; and Duane C. Kolar (Lisa), North Philadelphia; grandchildren: Alex Marshall, Tyler Marshall and Lucy June Kolar; brother Robert Kolar (Lee), Ebensburg; and nephew, Robert Kolar Jr. (Heather) and their family, Ebensburg. Marine Corps veteran of the Viet Nam War. Jim received his bachelor's degree in philosophy from St. Francis College, Loretto, and his master's degree in counseling from I.U.P. Retired in 2002 from the Ebensburg Center after 31 years of service to the Commonwealth of Pa. Member of St. Francis Xavier Parish, where he was a former eucharistic minister and member of the parish council; K of C, St. Anne's Council; American Legion, all of Cresson. Jim loved his children and grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time with them. He also liked to travel, especially to Europe. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Francis Xavier Church, Rev. Leo Arnone. Committal, church cemetery.
