Elaine Kutney

Kutney, Elaine, 66, Cresson, passed away November 5, 2020, at UPMC Altoona. She was born August 13, 1954 in Colver, daughter of the late Michael J. and Rose N. (Deola) Kutney, Sr. Preceded in death by her sister, Linda Lokey; and brothers, Michael Jr., Lawrence and Ronald Kutney. Survived by her brother, Joseph J. Kutney; brother-in-law, Kenneth Lokey; nieces, JoLynn and Janelle Lokey; and nephews, Anthony and Ronald Kutney. Elaine was involved with Skills of Central PA Inc. Lifesharing program for 23 years and worked at the Adult Training Programs. She loved celebrating holidays and especially enjoyed her birthday and blowing out the candles on her cake. She liked to dress up for Halloween and celebrated it each year. Elaine would talk about “Ho Ho” coming for Christmas, and candy during Easter. Elaine loved to shop and eat out at restaurants. Elaine liked to attend fairs, parties, and playing the slot machines at the casinos. She enjoyed traveling and going on vacation. Elaine liked to visit local parks and enjoyed Bilger’s Rock in Grampian. She donated money to non-profit organizations over the years, including Bilger’s Rock. Elaine has her name engraved on a plaque as one of the donors to the park. In addition, she helped the park with volunteer work including stuffing envelopes and other duties. She liked to volunteer at food banks and help to pack food for others. Elaine was very fond of candy and had a kind heart.  She would share her candy with others, especially children. Elaine lived with three different families over the past years. When the last family moved out of the area, Elaine requested to move into an apartment by herself.  Key Life Human Services was able to help her accomplish her dream, living in a one-bedroom apartment in Cresson with supports. She had a beautiful smile and a contagious laugh. Elaine loved to play jokes on others and enjoyed seeing their faces as she tricked them. She touched everyone’s heart that met her, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. At the family’s request, there will be no viewing. A memorial Mass will be scheduled at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care™.” AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com
