Shoop, Gerald A., 84, Mapleton, passed away Tuesday April 15, 2025, at his home. Born May 5, 1940, Brady Twp, son of the late William and Anna (Hunt) Shoop. Survived by children, Heidi Keiser; and Greg Shoop and wife, Brittany; 4 grandsons, Tyler, Jacob, Eli and Noah; and a granddaughter, Gemma; and a sister-in-law, Velma Shoop. Preceded in death by a son, Gerald R. Shoop; and a brother, Stanley “Bill” Shoop. Gerald graduated from Captain Jack High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army and later the United States Army Reserve. Gerald was employed at the Harbison Walker Brick Yard in Mount Union for 20 years, then the Mount Union Western Auto for 18 years, then Lake Raystown with the Corp of Army Engineers for 33 years. He worked at the Mapleton Swimming Pool for 2 years and helped plow the borough’s streets for over 20 years. At the request of Mr. Shoop there will be no formal services. Inurnment to be at the Mapleton IOOF Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E.
