Gloria C. (Tobin) Eberhart, 94, of Cresson, died at UPMC Altoona October 27, 2024. Gloria was born August 10, 1930, Cresson, daughter of the late Clarence “Toby” and Louise (Lambour) Tobin. She married William “Bill” Eberhart on Dec. 30, 1950. He preceded her in death in 2007 after 57 years of marriage. Surviving are six children: Air Force Col. Ret. Jeffrey (Joreen Novak) Eberhart of Tyrone, Army Lt. Col. Ret. Scott (Margaret “Mickie” Beichner) Eberhart of Cresson, Gary (Carol Murray) Eberhart of Cresson, Karen Eberhart of Cresson, Marcie (Todd) Lewis of Tyrone, Kristen (Bryan) Pearson of Tyrone. Gloria has 23 grandchildren: Lt. Col. Kevin (Alicia), Matthew (Rachel), and Julie Eberhart (Matthew) Morrow, Peter “Toby” (Megan), Alan (Krysti), Gregory (Erica), and Emily Eberhart, Josh (Megan), Ashley, Kaity Eberhart (Greg) Bretz, Christopher (Allison) and Cory (Katrina) Aurandt, Lauren Lewis (Jacob) Klapper, John, Mark, Michael, Jack, Nicholas, Marissa, Becca Lewis, Andrew, Ella, and Beth Pearson. She also has 19 great-grandchildren: Reid, Bailey and Cammy Eberhart, Nina Eberhart, Hannah, Will, Bennet, Madeline, and Winnie Morrow, Will and Violet Eberhart, Henry and Julie Eberhart, Maddox and Cora Eberhart, Colin Eberhart, Isabella and Mollie Bretz, Nora Klapper. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale Eberhart; a sister, Betty Lou (Donald) O’Malley; and a great-grandson, Adrian Eberhart. Gloria was a graduate of Cresson Joint High School in 1948 and Mount Aloysius Junior College in 1950. She worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. Joseph Cassidy for close to 50 years. She was a member of the Cresson Area Women’s Club and served as President for many years. Notably, she helped administer the “Angel Tree” which helped numerous families in the Cresson, Lilly, and Gallitzin areas around the holidays. She also served as a board member for Skills of Central Pennsylvania, Inc for several years. In recent years, she volunteered her time at John Paul Manor II Home in Cresson where she assisted the residents with arts and crafts. She was also a member of the Legion of Mary Auxiliary. Gloria’s most treasured times were spent with her large family. She was never one to miss a party, event, or social gathering. She enjoyed seeing her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren on a regular basis and kept up with all the ins and outs of their lives. She spent time with her friends weekly and very much enjoyed special dinners once a month at her church, St. Aloysius in Cresson, where she still attended weekly mass. Family and friends will be received Wednesday, October 30, 2024 from 1-4 & 6-9 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 11 a.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, the Very Rev. Fr. John Byrnes and Fr. Leo Arnone concelebrants. Committal St. Francis Xavier Cemetery Mausoleum, Cresson.
