Bass, Helen Ellen, 93, Newton Hamilton, passed away January 1, 2020 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia. Born February 6, 1926, Wilson, NC, daughter of the late Jasper Farmer and Rhoda Farmer-Pennington. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Fred J. Bass, with whom she shared over 70 years of marriage; son, Frederick Bass; grandson, James Bass; great-grandson, Alex Bass; and 4 sisters and 4 brothers. Survived by her daughters, Jeanne Varner and husband, Ronald, Newton Hamilton; Patsy Batten and husband, David, Starke, FL; son, Louis Bass and wife, Vickie, Kenly, NC; grandchildren, Dawana Walston (Jeff), Tonya Holsomback (James), Ashlee Lalor (Wayne), Katrina Walton (David), Eugene Batten (Christine), Amber Anderson (Javan), Jason Bass (Amy), Mickey Bass and Jeffrey Bass; numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Helen was a professional seamstress. She will be remembered for being a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother.
