Jean Mabel Rutter

Rutter, Jean Mabel (Myers), 93, Mount Union, passed away December 6, 2021, at Embassy at Woodland Park. Born June 15, 1928, daughter of the late William E. and Cecil B. (Merritt) Myers. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Gerald M. Rutter. Also preceded in death by great grandchild, Ashley Reed; and siblings, William “Billie” Myers and Thomas Myers. Survived by children, Deborah M. Reed and husband, Ned, Huntingdon; Trudie J. Ford and husband, Preston, Upper Marlboro MD; Thomas G. Rutter and wife, Karen, Shirleysburg; Jill T. Bennett and husband, Ketih, Port Matilda; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren and sisters, Lena Whitesel, Huntingdon; Betty Passwater, Florida. Jean attended Mount Union Area Schools. She worked at Grief Sewing Factory in Mount Union. Jean was a member of the Allenport United Methodist Church. She enjoyed ceramics, reading, and making jewelry. Most of all Jean enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Family and friends will be received on Friday December 10, 2021, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 12 p.m. at the funeral home, Joseph Barrett, officiant.
