Joanetta Louise Green

Green, Joanetta Louise (Byers), 82, formerly of Mount Union, Pennsylvania, passed away December 23, 2021, at Penn Highlands Hospital, Huntingdon. Born October 1, 1939, in Little Washington, North Carolina, daughter of the late Douglas and Mary Byers. Preceded in death by her husband, Willie Green; her parents, Douglas and Mary Byers; and her sister, Barbara Wheeler. Survived by children, Yolanda Mock and husband David; Linda (Green) Shepherd and husband, Jeff; and Timothy Green and his wife, Veronica; 7 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, and nephews; siblings, Minnie Byers, Gloria Burke, Theodore Byars, and sister-in-law, Mary Green. Joanetta attended Fashion Industry High School, Manhattan, New York. She was a devout Christian and member of the Mount Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Joanetta enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time with her loved ones. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday December 28, 2021, from 10am until the time of service at 11am, at the funeral home, Pastor Herman Burks, officiant.
