John G. Atherton

Atherton, John G. “Johnny”, 62, Cedar Crest, passed away unexpectedly Monday October 1, 2024, at home. Born February 22, 1962, Cedar Crest, son of the late John S. and Judith (Booher) Atherton. Survived by his wife, Susan R. Walters; children, Alicia Farver and husband, Tom; Renee Covert and husband, Galen; Chevelle Atherton; John Hunter Atherton; and Tayler Massey and husband, Adam; 10 grandchildren, Kason, Kane, Atalyn, Gracelyn, Ryan, Jordan, Breydan, Wyatt, Raelyn, and Kole; siblings, Tammy Bowser and husband, Andy; JoAnn Bellotti and husband, Randy; and Mose Atherton. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Karen Atherton. John was a member of the Mount Union Area High School Class of 1980. He liked hunting, fishing and shooting guns. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. The family will be holding a celebration of life on Saturday October 5, 2024, at 1:30 p.m., at the New Life Fellowship Church Fellowship Hall, 14896 Croghan Pike, Mt Union, PA 17066, Pastor Greg Harven, officiant.
