Soisson, Joline (Kirby), 86, Hanover, died January 7, 2022 at home. Born November 28, 1935, Cresson, she was the daughter of the late Daniel R. and Leta (Short) Kirby. Survived by her husband, Mark Soisson, whom she married on September 7, 1957 at St. Francis Xavier Church in Cresson by Fr. Charles Leonardis. In addition to her husband, Joline is survived by daughters, Karen Christian and husband Don Hillman of Mechanicsburg, PA; Julie Chalk and husband Tom of Frederick, MD; sons, Mike and wife Jenny of Cape St. Claire, MD; and Dave and wife Anna of New Market, MD; grandchildren, Justin Christian and wife Melissa of Arnold, MD; Michael and wife Heather of Arnold, MD; Chris and Danny Soisson of Cape St. Claire, MD; Katie Soisson-McCarren and husband Cole of Baltimore, MD; Maya and Juliette Soisson of New Market, MD; Tommy Chalk of Arlington, VA and Nicholas Chalk of Frederick, MD; great grandchildren, Jordan and Chloe Christian, and Michael Soisson, III of Arnold, MD; sister, Linda Wasil and husband Ronald of Cresson; brothers, Paul “Bud” Kirby and wife Barbara of Cresson; Patrick Kirby and wife Gina of Cresson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brother, Daniel Kirby Jr.; and sister, Joan Fulton. She was a graduate of Cresson Joint High School. Upon graduation she took a position as office manager and medical assistant to the late Dr. Claude W. Kirby, a prominent Cresson family physician. After her marriage, Joline took a similar position with an Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist in State College, PA while Mark completed his last college semester. After that she began a life as a devoted and loving wife, mother, homemaker, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a spectator and number one fan at many of her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and other activities. She will be greatly missed by all of her family. She was a longtime volunteer at the Prince George’s General Hospital and Meals on Wheels in Laurel, MD, and she often prepared baked goods in support of the local parish fundraisers. Joline was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, a women’s non-academic social and cultural sorority known around the world as the “friendship organization.” In her limited spare time, she loved to bowl, read and travel. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Hanover, PA. Friends will be received Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave, Cresson. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 10 a.m., St. Francis Xavier Church, Cresson, Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Burial at church cemetery.
