Sibis, Karen M., 66, Loretto, a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, and daughter, passed away unexpectedly at UPMC Shadyside on Friday, March 14, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. Born September 11, 1958, Spangler, daughter of Eileen (Wills) and the late Eugene Krug. Also preceded in death by her sister, Linda Smith; mother and father-in-law, Frank and Joan Sibis; and sister-in-law, Darla Sibis. Survived by her high school sweetheart and husband of 49 years, Daniel Sibis, whom she married October 3, 1975, in Loretto. Also survived by her only child, Daniel Sibis; siblings, Deborah (Donald) Beck, Judy (Tony) Biller, Barbara (Jeff) Lanzendorfer, Donald (Danielle) Krug, Edward (Laurie) Krug, Alan (Leslie) Krug, and Jeffrey (Toni) Krug; brother-in-law’s, Frank (Nancy) Sibis, Robert Sibis, and Tom Sibis; sister-in-law, Becky Maloskey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Karen spent most of her career working closely with her husband managing the family business, Frank’s Used Cars. With a love of plants and nature, she spent most of her free time gardening and caring for her beautiful property, as well as decorating for all the holidays, and when possible, spending time at the beach with friends and family. Karen impacted the lives of everyone she met and brought a smile to friends and family, including her son who credits her strong and relentless work ethic and guidance for his own success. She will be missed by all. Friends and family will be received Friday, March 21, 2025, from 4-7 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 10 a.m., Our Lady of the Alleghenies, 608 Main St., Lilly, Fr. Mathew Reese celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, https://donate.cancer.org.
