Kurt Andrew Wenzel

Wenzel, Kurt Andrew, 64, Shirleysburg, passed away December 28, 2021. Born September 17, 1957, Sligo Park, MD, son of the late Carlton E. and Joan M. (Hoenstein) Wenzel. Survived by loving wife, Anna Mary (Walker) Wenzel, Shirleysburg; children, Megan Mellott and husband, Mark, Willow Hill; Bryan Wenzel and significant other, Jonna Fisher, Mount Union; 2 granddaughters, Maria, and Marissa Mellott; brothers, Carlton E. Wenzel, and William F. Wenzel; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Kurt was a 1976 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. Kurt was part owner and manager of Path Valley Farms, Inc. for the last 37 years where he raised ferrets. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and trapper. Kurt enjoyed farming, gardening, and his tractors. Kurt served on the Mount Union Area School Board for 12 years. He helped as an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 76, Mount Union. Kurt looked forward to stocking his stream every year for all the kids to enjoy for trout season. Most of all he loved to be with his family and friends—especially his granddaughters. Family and friends will be received on Monday January 3, 2022, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and again on Tuesday January 4, 2022, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Mount Union, Father Joseph Fleming, officiant.
