Conrad, Laverne A., 76, Munster, died May 3, 2016, at UPMC Altoona. Born Sept. 8, 1939, in Munster, daughter of the late Robert Sr. and Clothilda (Willebran) Shiber. Preceded in death by husband, Paul "Chub" Conrad; sisters, Gertrude Orlosky and Eileen Shiber; brothers, Charles and Francis; sister-in-law, Stasia Shiber; and brothers-in-law, John Orlosky, Tom Schlosser and Perry Armstrong. Survived by daughter, Leslie, Munster; brother, Robert Shiber Jr., Munster; sister, Lucille Whiteford, Erie; sisters-in-law: Joan Shiber, Arizona; and Melvina Shiber, Portage. Formerly employed as a seamstress at Gallitzin Shirt Factory. Member of Basilica fo St. Michael, Loretto. Laverne like to mow grass with her John Deere tractor, watch cooking shows and read Regency Romances. Family and friends received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Charles M. Kennedy Funeral Home, Cresson, where vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel, Loretto, Very Rev.
