Louella Coons

Coons, Louella (Clymans), 87, Mount Union, passed away March 16, 2020 at Penn Highlands Huntingdon. Born September 17, 1932, Decorum, daughter of the late Lela M. (Cornelius) and Chalmer B. Clymans. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert N. Coons, whom she married at the First United Methodist Church in Mount Union on July 6, 1957; 6 brothers and 2 sisters. Louella was a 1949 graduate of Mount Union High School. Louella served for 10 years as the Chief Clerk to the Huntingdon County Commissioners. She also served as a Legislative Aide to State Representative Larry O. Sather and later State Representative Michael Fleck. Louella was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she was a former chairman of the board, trustee, secretary and treasurer. She was a member of the Bricktown Seniors. Louella was a past Matron of the Mount Union Chapter of the Eastern Star from 1967 to 1968 and a past Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of Pennsylvania Order of the Eastern Star from 1989 to 1990. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Union First United Methodist Church, 15 W Shirley Street, Mount Union, PA 17066.
