Lightner, Nickey S., 68, Huntingdon, passed away Monday November 4, 2024, at home. Born February 27, 1956, Mifflin County, son of the late Richard M. Lightner and Alice E. (Utley) Boone. Preceded in death by his stepfather, Lewis D. Boone; and step siblings, Ronald, Richard, and Daniel Boone and Beverly Coons. Survived by brother, Richard Lightner; half-brother, Robert L. Boone; and step siblings, Dixie McNerlin and husband, Ronald; Mary Suders and husband, Terry; and Terry Boone; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Nickey was of the Protestant faith. He was a 1974 graduate of Mount Union Area High School. After high school he worked briefly at Harbison Walker Brickyard in Mount Union. Nickey went on to join the United States Navy. He would then retire from Letterkenny Army Depot after over 30 years of service. Nickey enjoyed hunting, playing softball and cheering for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penn State Nittany Lions.
