Stolarski Sr., Peter “Pete” P., 82, Cresson, passed away January 25, 2022 at UPMC Altoona. Born April 2, 1939, Canonsburg, son of the late Bronislaus and Josephine (Wysocki) Stolarski. Preceded in death by his loving wife, Joan R. (McConnell), whom he met while he was a patient at the Cresson Sanatorium; brothers, Walter, Enoch and John Stolarski; and sisters, Rose Burke, Mary Leppla, Theresa Sullivan and Frances Zanaglio. Survived by his children, Peter Jr. (Carol), New Kensington; Marianne, Loretto; and Ronald, Cresson; 4 grandchildren, Nathan (Lindsey), Tara, Joshua and Jacob; and two great-granddaughters, Reagan and Atlee. Pete was a US Navy veteran serving from 1956-1960 on the USS Furse. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Loretto Legion, and a life member of the Sankertown VFW, DAV, and the Cresson Sportsman’s Assoc. Pete was also a member of the Cresson Area JC’s, where he spearheaded the POW/MIA project. He was a past Cresson Borough councilman and a past president of the AFLCIO Union. Pete worked as a nurse’s aide for the Cresson State School. He was an avid Miami Dolphins, New York Mets and Pittsburgh Panthers fan. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing, but most importantly he loved watching his grandchildren’s sporting events and spending time with his family. Friends and family will be received Friday, January 28, 2022 from 4-8 p.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 233 Keystone Ave., Cresson. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 7911 Admiral Peary Hwy., Cresson, Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Military rites provided by the Sankertown VFW, Loretto Legion and other local military organizations. Committal St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DAV (dav.org) in Pete's name.
