Robert David Mull, 79, of Huntingdon, PA, passed away Palm Sunday, April 2nd, 2023, at UPMC Altoona. He was the son of the late Harry and Harriet (Waggoner) Mull of Chicago. He was married to Joyce (Crissman) Mull for 40 years. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Earl and Dorothy Crissman, niece Amanda Crist, and first wife Gail (Tuk) Mull. He is survived by his wife Joyce, and three children, Heather Mull and her partner Dan Barnhill, Evan Mull wife Julie (Merrifield), and Jennie (Mull) husband Jim Cook; and seven grandchildren: Sebastian Mull, River Mull, Robin Mull, Hadley Cook, Pippa Cook, Winnie Cook, and Ross Cook. Bob is also survived by his sister-in-law, Janice (Crissman) Crist and her husband Lynn and by several nieces and nephews. Bob attended Harvard School for Boys in Chicago, where he was a 60-minute star for the 2-time all-city champion football team and earned an Eagle Scout rank. He earned master's degrees in literature and education from Boston University and the University of New Hampshire. He was a dedicated educator, who taught in Chicago Public Schools and at Penn State University. Bob also was a spiritual advisor at SCI-Huntingdon, where he taught literature and writing to inmates. A longtime resident of Huntingdon, Bob wrote for the Daily News. He loved his family, and his many adventures with them, especially floating the Juniata in a canoe. He enjoyed participating with his church and AA family. Bob took pleasure in cooking, reading, writing, jazz, classical music, teaching, and making people laugh with his unique humor and the many character voices he could impersonate. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 from 2:00 pm until the 4:00 p.m. funeral Mass to celebrate Bob’s life with Deacon Don Gibboney officiating at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Huntingdon, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Huntingdon County Library, 330 Penn St., Huntingdon, PA 16652 or to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Rd., Huntingdon, PA. 16652.
