Richardson, Rose Agnes (Kearney), 90, Melbourne, Florida, formerly of Cresson, died February 22, 2022, in Melbourne. She was born July 17, 1931, Lilly, daughter of Albert Patrick and Agnes Catherine (Robine) Kearney. Rose was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Curtis Richardson, whom she married May 24, 1958; daughter, Sharon Kay Richardson; brothers, Albert Patrick Kearney, Jr. (Gladys); Michael William “Bill” (Rilla); Charles (Mary Lou); Faber (Mary); Robert “Roddy”; and sisters, Ellen Jane Nagy (Robert); Virginia Marie George (Francis); and Thelma Jean Kodosky (William). Rose is survived by her daughter, Beverly Ann Lawton (John Todd); sons, William David (Melanie) and Douglas James (Rebecca); grandchildren, Amanda Greene (Peter), Thomas Lawton, Sarah De Lima (Daryl), Dennis Richardson (Ricki), Olivia Richardson, Megan Richardson and Abigail Richardson; great grandchildren, William and Walter Greene, Sebastian and Evelyn De Lima; sister, Gail Broniak; and her cherished sister-in-law, Shirley Kearney. Rose was a 1949 graduate of Lilly Washington High School. She subsequently enlisted in the United States Army and was trained at the Women’s Auxiliary Corps training center, at Fort Lee, Virginia, serving as a cryptographer during the Korean War while stationed in Germany. Following the Korean War, Rose worked for the A&P grocery store in Cresson, where she met her future husband. They married at the former St. Brigid’s church in Lilly, on May 24, 1958. Rose was a long-time member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Cresson, where a memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 12 p.m., Rev. Leo Arnone celebrant. Military rites provided by the Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW, and other local military organizations. Committal will be at St. Aloysius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Cresson Public Library, 231 Laurel Ave., Cresson, to serve current and future readers and learners.
