Decker, Samuel Benjamin, 35, Cresson, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. Born May 21, 1989, DuBois, Clearfield County, son of David & Jeanine Decker and Kathryn & William Elenchin. Sam leaves behind brothers, Travis, Jacob (Amanda), Adam and Zac; and sisters; Nichole (Bobby), Mary Kate (Tyler) and Hannah (Carter). He was also adored by his three nephews, Timothy, who was his Godson, David and Noah. He was loved by numerous aunts and uncles. Sam was a 2007 graduate of Coudersport High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Clarion University. Sam proudly served in the United States Army as a Captain. He loved his country and was a huge patriot. Sam loved spending time watching sports and cooking out with family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at the family camp in Mahaffey with his nephews. Sam was a huge football buff and enjoyed cheering for his nephew, Timmy. He loved his job at PennDot, where he was a Purchasing Agent for Cambria County Maintenance for over 5 years. He was a dedicated follower and loved our Lord Jesus Christ with whom he now rests eternally. Friends and family will be received Friday, October 11, 2024 from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Anderson Family Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Cresson, Fr. Leo Arnone celebrant. Military Honors will be provided by the Cresson American Legion, Sankertown VFW and other local military organizations. Private inurnment at Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney. At the family’s request, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Sam’s honor.
