Warren Russell Peters Sr.

Peters, Warren Russell Sr., 84, McConnellstown, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday May 11, 2024, at home surrounded by his family. Born February 22, 1940, son of the late Gilbert and Agnes (VanFossen) Peters. Survived by wife, Jane Elaine (Ogin) Peters, children, Warren Russell Peters Jr., Denver, PA; Holly Joyce Dunham and husband, Paul, Kenly, NC; Jason Ogin Peters and wife, Michele, Warren, PA; 5 grandchildren, Adrienne Furyk, Nathan Dunham, Bethany Mooney, Andrew Peters, and Zachary Peters, brother, Gilbert Peters Jr., brother-in-law, Howard Ogin, several nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by siblings, Etna Yankosky, Marion Gross, Rachel Woodring, Jenny Jenkins, and Howard Peters. Warren graduated from Newport High School in 1958. He honorably served in the Pennsylvania Army National guard achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. Warren retired as a supervisor with the Bell Telephone company. He was a 60-year member of the Valley of Bloomsburg Masonic Lodge achieving his 32nd degree, member of the American Legion Post 0658 Youngsville, PA, volunteered with the Huntingdon County Fair Grounds farm and tractor museum, was a devout Christian volunteering at Katrina’s Kitchen as a disaster relief effort during Hurricane Katrina, and went on multiple mission trips. He enjoyed time at the ocean and bays where he liked to crab, clam and fish for flounder, he enjoyed dirt track racing at Port Royal, where he was a season ticket holder watching his favorite drivers of Ron Davies, Lance Dewease, and Keith Kauffman.  Warren also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
